The Storage Engineer role will work as part of a regional team to support and maintain the storage and data protection technologies assigned to their region. These services include but are not limited to FC switches, Network Switches, InfiniBand Switches, Block Storage arrays, NAS, Commvault, Rubrik, and AWS. Each region will assigned specific hospitals and remote offices to support. The Storage Engineer will report to the Manager of Data Center Storage and receive additional technical direction from the Storage Architect.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Provide storage provisioning for NAS/CAS/SAN systems (essential)

  2. Administer SAN switch devices including zoning. Aliases, host addition/changes/removal (essential)

  3. Monitors, escalates, and re-mediate all NAS & SAN technologies and related applications for performance, events, and alerts. (essential)

  4. On Call for provisioning needs 24/7 with other team members. Assist with other team regions as required. Travel to hospital and remote locations to resolve issues or perform project tasks (essential)

  5. Providing level 1 DAS, SAN, NAS Configuring and administering support and expertise as it relates to the storage environment as needed (essential)

  6. Requires expertise with the configuration, and administration, tuning, optimizing and troubleshooting for NFS/CIFS protocol on NAS arrays (essential)

  7. Perform change management and incident management for enterprise storage systems (essential)

  8. Develop an understanding of project engagement processes (Service Readiness) and partner with project teams on Conditions of Satisfaction deliverables including support documentation (essential)

  9. Acts as a resource for other application owners and IS teams to perform and test recovery procedures. Assist with SAN/NAS designs as needed. Assist with Data Protection tasks as needed. (essential)

  10. Maintaining storage and data protections systems documentation, including diagrams, policies, procedure, and standards. (essential)

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, IT, or relevant field. required.

  2. 3-5 years related work experience required.

  3. Operating systems and systems administration concepts FC SAN administration/troubleshooting, Backup systems administration/troubleshooting, proactive communication skills to manage problem with vendors and our customers effectively, Storage monitoring, alert monitoring, SNIA certification, DellEMC Certification, SNIA certification, AWS certification, Commvault Certification, Rubrik Certified Systems Administrator, AWS certification, VMware Certification

  4. Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to functional area and related systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with DellEMC storage/NAS or Pure Storage Experience with Cisco MDS or Brocade Zoning.
