Job Description Summary

In this role, the NDE Project Level III will provide technical direction of NDE activities for commercial nuclear power plant outages, as well as supervise NDE teams performing ISI, BOP, FAC, turbine and snubber inspections. When not working customer outages, this role is also charged with working to develop procedures and techniques to improve or expand GEH's NDE offerings.

The ideal candidate will have high levels of operational judgment, be knowledgeable of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code sections III, V, VIII and XI and BWR VIP codes and standards; ensuring inspections are carried out to meet code requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible to support planning of GEH project schedule and delivery and provide task leadership, technical direction, work coordination and supervision of work teams composed of GEH and contingent worker personnel.

  • Establish appropriate relationships and interact effectively with senior level customer and supplier management on commercial, technical & compliance issues and work within an integrated services team.

  • Support business activities including inspection tooling and technique development, training, proposal development, and staffing.

  • Perform duties and complete assignments while maintaining GEH standards for integrity, safety and quality.

  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a discipline related to Non Destructive Evaluation or at least 5 years of experience in Nuclear Inspection Activities

  • NDE lvl III or qualifications that support immediate qualification as NDE lvl III

  • Experience performing ISI exams in the Nuclear industry

  • Working knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code sections III, V, VIII and XI.

Desired Characteristics

  • Certified ISI Level III or Automated Data Analyst

  • 10 years Nuclear Industry experience.

  • PDI qualifications for RPV and/or Piping procedures

  • Experience performing automated/encoded inspections at BWR or PWR plants

  • Experience performing PWR piping inspections

  • Demonstrated leadership of field teams working at customer sites

  • Knowledge of GE Nuclear / GE Energy products, processes, customers, markets and competition

  • Familiarity with RFF activities, primarily NDE automated inspections

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in working with BWR 2-6 ISI, including in-vessel, drywell and BOP ISI techniques

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

The salary range for this position is $104.2K - $145K. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
