Citizens Digital Asset Librarian Administrator in Westwood, Massachusetts

If you have a passion for content and digital asset management – this role is for you. The Digital Asset Librarian Administrator is experienced in managing the day-to-day operations of the Digital Asset Management system (DAM). This is a hybrid role (Librarian/Administrator) out of our Westwood, MA office, where you will be considered the subject matter expert and take the lead on all aspects serving as the primary librarian and administrator. You will manage the executional needs of the Digital Asset Management system - working on the early-stage implementation and roll-out of a new enterprise DAM solution of all digital content. You will manage, enrich, and quality control assets, and manage user-queries. Your role will focus on the administration and execution of taxonomy, metadata/tagging, permissions, workflows/integrations, and other items based on enterprise roadmap. This position reports into Marketing/Center of Excellence - -and works with internal teams, as well as external agencies, who produce and consume content.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead DAM as subject matter expert while working closely with dedicated outsourced Asset Librarian

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of DAM: permissions, metadata, user-inquiries, and overall asset life-cycle management

  • Manage intake of assets for quality control, ensuring content meets brand and technical standards

  • Responsible to manage the schemas and dictionaries within DAM system, establishing process/user management standards and providing oversight of governance

  • Responsible for assigning appropriate metadata to assets and cataloging assets to ensure accurate usage rights and ease of search

  • Responsible for opening technology tickets as needed, and follow any issues through to resolution with IT or vendor

  • Implement metadata standards and continual best practices to support easy tagging and search within the DAM

  • Implement agreed taxonomy structure and classification system, always ensuring best UX experience and user-adoption

  • Act as DAM ambassador to increase adoption and best practices through ongoing education, training, and support

  • Develop and maintain ongoing documentation, user workflows and policies and permissions

Qualifications:

Required skills/Experience:

  • Experience working with DAM solutions, metadata standards, governance principles, and rights management

  • General working knowledge of data architecture and lifecycle of assets from creation to delivery

  • Experience as a product owner, or similar role working with technical resources to build/test ongoing features and functionality

  • Demonstrates knowledge of databases, media storage best practices, technologies, processes in digital content formats & standards

  • Demonstrates ability to implement information science standards and best practices in a digital asset management system (metadata, taxonomy, tagging etc)

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with acute attention to detail

  • Good analytical skills

Preferred skills/Experience:

  • 3-5 years Asset Librarian experience, preference with Aprimo DAM preferred

  • Aprimo DAM Admin certification preferred (or pass online Aprimo Admin certification within first 6 months of hire)

  • Asset Librarian experience (reviewing metadata, classifying assets, uploading/managing content, rights management, asset life-cycle management)

  • Experience implementing a new DAM solution within an enterprise environment

  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop) and Microsoft (Excel, PPT)

  • Action oriented

Education/Certificates:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Library and Information Science or Graphics) or relevant work experience with a DAM

  • Additional DAM certificate/courses, a plus
