Charles Schwab Manager, Data Engineering in Westlake, Texas

Duties : Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software. Design, develop, and implement new data ingestion workflows by practical application of existing and new data engineering techniques. Lead large projects or multiple projects for successful delivery. Develop data ingestion workflows across a wide variety of data sources and data ingestion patterns such as batch, near real-time, and real time. Work with business analysts to understand business and new data requirements and use cases. Develop and update ETL specifications and supporting documentation. Work with technical directors, Data Modelers, and cross-functional teams to ensure an accurate and efficient implementation of requirements and following standards. Define and execute quality assurance and test scripts guide the ETL delivery team with technical expertise. Review ETL delivery from 3rd party vendor teams, advocate for agile practices to increase delivery efficiency, and ensure consistency with published development, coding, and testing standards. Apply data integration best practices for data quality and automation. Work with product vendors to identify and manage open product issues.

Position allows for partial remote work. Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Westlake, TX. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Job Location: Westlake, TX

Salary: $141,110 to $179,900 per year

What you have

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or related field. Requires 6 years of progressive, post-Bachelor’s related experience, which must include some experience in each of the following skills: Data analytics using SQL; Maintain enterprise data warehouse using On-Prem and cloud technologies such as Teradata, Oracle, Azure Data Lake Storage and Google Cloud Platform; Develop, tune, and debug complex SQL Queries; Informatica and IICS; Unix and Unix Shell Scripting; and Create data models using Erwin Data Model tool.
