Treasury, Departmental Offices Senior Policy Advisor in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary This position is located at Departmental Offices, Office of the Deputy Secretary, Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (ODEIA). As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will maintain strong relationships with Treasury leaders and program owners, apply knowledge of research methods, conduct data analyses using standard statistical analysis software systems and data management in order to support policy recommendations. As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will: Write papers, briefings, and memos to and for senior policy officials in the department concerning economic disparities and barriers to economic participation and prosperity in the U.S. economy that cut across a wide variety of sectors and markets. Analyze and assess, using appropriate tools and models, the potential DEIA and economic equity impacts of proposed or existing policy changes or global economic developments. In direct collaboration with Senior Treasury officials, develop policy proposals, options and alternatives and recommend Treasury's position with respect to DEIA and economic equity. Act as an expert in community finance, capital markets, financial institutions, economic policy and program design and implementation, and policy modeling. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as proven proficiency and supportable (as evidenced in the resume) hands-on experience in ALL of the following: - Developing and conducting research on economic inequality in outcomes and opportunities and the impact of government policies and programs on barriers to economic participation; AND - Experience with public policies and programs that influence the economic well-being of Americans, especially tax and financial policies; AND - Using analytical and evaluative methods to assess circumstances and disparities across different segments of the population, especially by race, gender, and geography/places; AND - Using verbal and written communication to deliver presentations and briefings to internal and public audiences.
