Summary This position is located in the Infrastructure Branch of the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The incumbent serves as a System Administrator ensuring information security and reports to the Supervisor of the Server Section, Infrastructure Branch. The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining & securing our Exchange 365 environment to include implementing scanning of email attachments and implementing a Data Loss Prevention (DLP) program to protect the email environment. Responsibilities As a Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) GS-2210-14, your typical work assignments may include: Assisting with the management of the Agency's virtualized server environment located in Microsoft's Azure cloud environment, securing data center resources, and evaluating, implementing, and securing new technologies. Coordinate and notify Customer Support of expected and unexpected server downtime due to maintenance or hardware/software problems and responding to assigned security incidents, threats, and vulnerabilities. Provide technical advice and assistance to the Help Desk in the resolution of Azure infrastructure, data center devices, and AD/AAD problems encountered by Agency users. Responsible for developing and maintaining Group Policy Objects (GPO) to secure our Windows 2022 servers while maintaining and securing the organization's Exchange 365 environment. Manage the Agency's virtualized server environment located in Microsoft's Azure cloud environment, securing data center resources, responding to security incidents, and evaluating, implementing, and securing new technologies, while implementing security standards for Linux and Windows. IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT: The ideal candidate will serve as an authoritative expert on the Agency Windows and Linux server infrastructure and will have experience with maintaining and securing an enterprise data center. The ideal candidate will also have experience with ensuring cybersecurity compliance and risk mitigation, policy planning, project management, and with utilizing scripting to maintain data center equipment. The ideal candidate will also have experience with managing a cloud-based data center. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be qualified for this position, in addition to the Basic Requirements, applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal service obtained in either the private or public sector typically gained in the IT field or through performing IT related tasks such as: Experience of operating, maintaining, and securing Windows Server 2022 infrastructure; and Experience implementing and maintaining a Data Loss Protection (DLP) system in Azure; and Experience implementing and maintaining Active Directory (AD) / Azure Active Directory (AAD) / Microsoft Entra Domain Services to include managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs); and Experience implementing and maintaining Azure Subscriptions, Resource Groups, and Policies.
