As a Cloud Systems Engineer you will:

• Manage cloud infrastructure core components and Kubernetes environment for other teams,

• Drive the adaptation and implementation of containers with Kubernetes,

• PoC, research and develop future-state solutions, onboard new technologies that broaden and optimize our environment as well as improve the performance,

• Develop highly resilient cloud-based solutions that account for failures within the technology stack, region, and across cloud providers,

• Deploy new tools (like Crossplane, Ingress Controller) for our team and other teams to consume,

• Develop reusable orchestration blocks (Terraform, Chef, Helm charts, Crossplane XRDs) with the goal to reduce turnaround time and improving customer self-service experience,

• Work closely with other infrastructure teams to determine standards and guidelines for current and new technologies in the cloud,

• Have a chance to improve CI/CD process/tooling to allow for developer teams higher velocity,

• Develop security strategies by working closely with our InfoSec and Cloud Architecture teams,

• Provide thought leadership across new implementations and cloud strategies,

• Propose and evaluate standards for future use,

• Implement tools and solutions that make our lives easier,

• Document processes for L2 team.

And on the technical side, we need:

• Some practical experience with Linux administration,

• Experience with Bash scripting,

• Practical knowledge of at least one higher level scripting language (Python, Ruby, Perl),

• Understanding of virtualization and containers,

• Basic knowledge of networking,

• Understanding of CI/CD concept,

• Smart and curious quick learner who desire to embrace new technologies,

• High-level abstraction thinking skills, willingness to challenge the status quo and suggest improvements,

• We welcome people who have experience with other technologies/specialties and are willing to pursue Cloud and Kubernetes.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of AWS, Google Cloud or Azure,

• Knowledge of configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet).
