Aerotek Hydraulic Technician in Virginia Beach, Virginia

Description:

Hydraulic Technician

-Will assist in the building and testing of railroad maintenance equipment

-Performs the Pneumatic/Hydraulic Set-up and Calibration of new and rebuilt machines.

-Inspects for quality ‘workmanship’ during the machine assembly process. Provides direction for the resolution of discrepancies.

-Enters “Engineering Change Requests” for applicable Hydraulic drawings.

-Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.

-Assembles hydraulic and pneumatic components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.

-Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

-Documents actions by completing production and quality forms, compliant to all quality management system

-Is familiar with the activities and responsibilities of the Assembly Foreman and can perform such duties, as required, in their absence.

-Disassemble hydraulic components, and assemble hydraulic units according to manufacturer specifications.

-Develop the necessary skills from vendor training and on the job experience to increase overall knowledge of the operation, customer base and vendors to satisfactory level.

-Attend authorized vendor-sponsored and required training programs.

-Must be able to work independently from drawings and verbal directions to get product completed.

-Help lay out equipment (build ups) all the way through to final assembly

  • will also assist in crimping the hoses and applying hose ends to the tips.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Ideally looking for 5 years experience with assembling pneumatic systems but will consider extensive hydraulic experience if light on pneumatics Reading and interpreting functional hydraulic/pneumatic drawings, along with experience building hydraulic hoses (doesn't have to be hydraulic but any type of hose assembly is a must for this position!

Need to provide their own basic tools.
