Amazon Sr. Learning Experience Designer, Retail Capabilities in Tokyo, Japan
Description
Japan Consumer Innovation (JCI) Retail Capabilities Team is seeking an innovative and experienced Sr. Learning Experience Designer to own end-to-end design, development, and engagement for people capability advancement programs within the JP Stores organization. Key job responsibilities
Design and develop effective and engaging learning contents that advance JP Stores employee capabilities
Work backwards with business and program teams to maximize leaner experience (LX), over end-to-end of Analysis-Design-Development-Implement-Evaluation (ADDIE) cycle.
Develop, innovate, and own Learning Experience Design (LXD) strategy and roadmap to continuously bar-raise learner experience
Bar-raise learner impact measurements and continuously up-level program qualities
Monitor industry trends and apply best practices from outside and internal Amazon L&D communities.
Manage internal Learning Management Systems (LMS) including completion status, learner reactions, behavior changes, etc.
Facilitate existing classroom training (trainer support, etc.) as needed
A day in the life
Conduct meetings with key SMEs to understand/finalize training requirements and learning objectives.
Design course structure (modality, contents, experience, etc.) and develop course materials (video, animation, text, etc.) via using L&D software; and publish them on internal platforms (LMS, broadcast channels, learning portal, etc.).
Develop a strategy doc for innovating existing mechanisms for leadership proposal.
Manage LMS (e.g. training assignments, data reporting, user escalation management, etc.).
Facilitate interactive training program (both classroom and virtual) as needed.

JP Retail Capabilities belongs to the Japan Consumer Innovation (JCI) org, the central team of JP Stores organization
Our mission is to maximize capabilities of JP Stores employees via innovative and effective learning solutions
Our major initiatives are: (1) JP Retail Employee Learning Program (Global Stores online training, JP VM Academy, JP Negotiation/JBP Training Program, etc.) and (2) employee capability benchmarking/transformation mechanisms ("X"-Survey, Future of "X" program, etc.)

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of working experience creating training curriculum and content in a corporate setting, with solid knowledge of instructional design principles and practices
Advanced multimedia development skills in audio, video, and animation, with experience using major e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, etc.)
Experience in training assignment & data management through LMS (K-Net, etc.)
Business-level English (both oral/written)
Strategic doc writing skills
Confident presentation and facilitation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Business-level Japanese
Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
Experience in assessing performance gaps, analyzing learning needs, designing and developing learning and performance support solutions, and evaluating program effectiveness
Experience as a facilitator/trainer of leadership and professional development programs
Bachelor’s degree in adult learning areas (Instructional Design; Development and Evaluation; Learning Technologies, etc.)
