POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities Management performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled plumbing work, and maintaining buildings and grounds as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Installs, maintains and repairs plumbing equipment.

2. Inspects, installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating, water, gas and draining system.

3. Cuts and threads pipe, fits valves, couplings and other specified parts to piping sections and plumbing fixtures.

4. Calculates quantity of materials needed and other supplies to complete an assigned project.

5. Reads blue prints or specifications to determine materials, time and methods used in completing assigned projects.

6. Prepares surface and applies coats of paint, varnish, stains, or enamels to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of the hospital.

7. Performs ground maintenance as directed.

8. Performs maintenance and repair of landscaping sprinkler system components.

9. Keeps up to date preventive maintenance records.

10. Must be accessible for emergency and on-call duties on a 24-hour basis.

11. Shall observe safety rules and regulations at all time.

12. Promotes positive customer service with internal and external customers.

13. As a crisis prevention intervention trained staff member, responds appropriately to a manpower request (a.k.a. Dr. Love).

14. Regular, punctual and dependable attendance.

15. Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

· High school diploma or GED required

· Vocational or technical training preferred

· Journeyman card preferred

· 3 to 5 years plumbing experience required
