SUNY Upstate Medical University Print Equipment Operator (Digital) in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

Duties include but are not limited to: Operate digital duplication machines and peripheral equipment; determine work priorities and schedule work; expedite workflow; maintain an inventory of paper and supplies; assist other Duplicating & Printing staff with printing, collating, binding, and distribution materials; diagnose malfunctions and perform maintenance on duplicating machines; operate a variety of other equipment such as cutting, binding, folding, preserving and collating machines; perform other basic tasks as assigned. Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull light weights, up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications:

The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the NY HELPS program. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Print Equipment Operator 1 (Digital), SG06 title.

For consideration for this title, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

There are no education or experience requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a print environment preferred. Experience using and editing PDF files in a digital print manufacturing environment preferred. Knowledge of the EFI Fiery digital printing solution workflow software preferred. Experience with digital printers and peripheral equipment.

Work Days:

Schedule based on a 37.5 hour work week. Monday- Friday, 8:30 AM- 4:30 PM

NY HELPS appointments may be temporary pending commissioner approval or permanent based on candidate eligibility.
