Job Description:
Role Summary/Purpose:
The VP, Platform Risk - Health & Wellness will be the compliance and operational risk point of contact for the Walgreens portfolio, as well as other key initiatives across Health & Wellness, namely in the areas of Pet and Vet. This role will support the business by participating in the compliance and operational risk assessments, providing training, developing monitoring, and supporting strategic initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:
Act as the primary compliance and operational risk point of contact for business personnel for the Walgreens portfolio and partnership
Support strategic initiative work related to the expansion of the Pet Market
Provide compliance and operational support related to the Vet industry as a growth lever for the Health & Wellness platform
Lead efforts to implement the Synchrony risk framework into business/products, including documentation and/or development of legal requirements, controls, risk assessment, testing, training and policy and procedure review
Assist first line business functional teams (ex: Marketing, Credit, etc.) to embed effective tools, reporting, and controls for analyzing and monitoring compliance and operational risks and be a subject matter expert for providing guidance to the first line business functions on effective controls and documentation for consumer compliance and operational risk management.
Establish effective relationships with all functional areas
Conduct targeted Risk reviews and continuous monitoring activities
Support regulatory examinations and other supervisory activities
Ensure significant risks and issues are promptly escalated to the appropriate level
Establish effective relationships and collaborate with individuals across the Risk organization that have oversight responsibility to facilitate a consolidated view of risk across all applicable risk pillars (e.g., compliance risk, operational risk, strategic risk, financial risk, credit risk, etc.).
Support third party POS integration reviews; provider facing marketing reviews
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, plus 5+ years of work experience in the financial services industry or in lieu of degree, 9+ years of financial services experience
3+ years of experience with exposure to consumer compliance and regulatory hot topics within the consumer credit industry
3+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
3+ years of successful work in a matrixed environment, leading projects and presenting results to senior leaders
Desired Characteristics:
Ability to influence and credibility to achieve organizational results by collaborating with cross-functional/cross-platform teams
Experience working with stakeholders in Veterinarian and Pet markets
Ability to objectively identify risks, effectively challenge and communicate risks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build strong relationships with business partners and to be top of mind when questions arise with business partners
Proven ability to influence management and initiate change
Ability to be forward-thinking in the identification of future risks and work cross-functionally to mitigate identified risks
Grade/Level: 12
The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
