Scope of role: Lead TA communications in Solid Tumor at a regional level in AP (Designated TA could evolve based on changes in business priorities and pipelines)

Reporting to the Director, Regional Portfolio Communication, Pharmaceuticals, APAC, you will

  • Drive business objectives of brands in Solid Tumor in Asia Pacific

  • Build trust and reputation of the Company amongst external stakeholders through Communication, Patient Engagement, Patient Advocacy & Public Affairs strategies and programs that position the Company as an innovator and shape the environment to enable timely and broad access to our medicines in the designated Therapeutic Areas.

Responsibilities include:

Building external stakeholder trust/advocacy through strategic communication plans development and implementation where you

  • Develop strong partnerships with, and serve as a trusted advisor to the country C&PA teams and regional cross-functional teams in Asia Pacific on multiple businesses and brands

  • Contribute to the development of strategic communication plans and implement elements as assigned, aligning with and advancing both business and C&PA goals and strategic priorities.

  • Help build relationships with and act as liaison to key third-party influencers and external constituencies

  • Identify and apply key metrics to communication practices, and provide insights that drive confidence, integration and alignment.

  • Encourage best practice sharing between markets

  • Manage projects, including timelines, agencies and budgets as assigned.

Maintaining external stakeholder trust through effective management of issues where you

  • Proactively monitor and identify potential enterprise-/brand-related issues and develop issues-management strategies

  • Lead the management of product issues and other situations that may impact stakeholder trust and company reputation

  • Partner closely with global Janssen communication, Media Relations, Strategy & Insights and other CoEs to ensure Enterprise alignment and help execute issue response strategies

  • Create messages that engage, inform and align stakeholders and serve as spokesperson for media inquiries

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in journalism, communications, public affairs, business, marketing, science or business.

  • At least 8 years of experience in communication or related field, preferably in a company, NGO, government agency or public relations agency

  • Demonstrated ability to develop compelling stories, with superior written, oral and visual communication skills

  • Experience of working effectively across a matrix organization, influencing and partnering with leadership teams and cross-functional business teams at a local, regional and/or global level

  • Experience dealing with national and local lay, professional/trade and social media

  • Ability to write and present clearly and persuasively in English

  • Understanding of digital and social platforms

  • Ability to maintain perspective and bring positive attitude and courage to partnership discussions
