As a Sr Technical Program Manager for Amazon Photos, you will be the organization’s expert on our core experience, and will partner with Product Management and other teams to identify opportunities to deliver customer experiences that customers love.

Amazon Photos helps consumers preserve and re-live their memories. The service comes with unlimited photo storage for Prime members and apps are available on iOS, Android, Web, Desktop, Fire Tablet & Fire TV. The service is also integrated into Alexa devices such as Echo Show and Echo Spot. Amazon Photos is the latest digital offering to consumers released on the heels of the Amazon Music and Amazon Video offerings. We have ambitious goals to scale growth and adoption of the service around the world and delight our customers with a great product.

YOUR SKILLS

As a Sr. TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance customer and business needs against technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities

• Drive the development and execution of experiences on our Photos apps, inventing and delivering delightful Photos experiences.

• You will work with our engineering, product and QA teams to make sure we are architecting, planning, and on track to deliver high quality customer experiences and high quality releases, making scalable long-term technical decisions while meeting our commitments.

• Coordinate and plan across multiple teams, finding technical solutions which span backend and client applications.

• Identify gaps in our software development lifecycle and lead process improvements so we can deliver more to our customers and have fun doing it.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

• 3+ years of software development experience

• 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

• Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

• Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

• Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
