Amazon Software Development Manager, F2 tech in Seattle, Washington

Description

Lifestyle Based Shopping team within F2 Tech strives to deeply understand customer preferences, and shopping choices to help them purchase products that fit their lifestyle and shopping mission. Our goal is to improve Amazon's credibility in niche categories like Fitness, team sports, outdoor activities, sports fan merchandise, as well as Luxury and Premium fashion. We achieve this by building features through the customer's journey enabling improved discovery, better product presentation and evaluation, building selection authenticity, and driving re-engagement and repeat visits for these stores.

As the SDM in the team, you will lead the charter for the Luxury and Premium CX, making Amazon the most preferred destination for high-end fashion purchases. You will be responsible for leading a team of talented engineers that designs, develops, tests, and deploys new customer-facing features. This role requires deep technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and solid product instincts. You will provide thought leadership in a fast-paced development environment, and build, scale and shape the direction of this business while solving broad industry challenges.

This is a cross-functional role and you will work directly with product management, UX, business stakeholders, as well as central platform teams to build features and experiences that enhance the shopping experience across for high ASP customers. Key job responsibilities

  • Lead E2E architecture, design, implementation, support/maintenance, and evaluation of Luxury services.

  • Lead solutions to unlock Premium features in a scaled way

  • Provide leadership and innovation in the design and implementation of services to enable new products and services.

  • Evaluate complex business and technical requirements, and communicate inherent risks and solutions to technical and non-technical business owners.

  • Act as point of contact for communications dealing with project deliverables, setting the expectation, managing priorities, technologies, human factors and management issues.

  • Effectively communicate ideas and provide updates to key stakeholders and leadership.

  • Effectively partner with Product and Design team to define roadmap and product direction.

  • Identify key partners to deliver the goal and establish effective partnership model.

  • Effectively hire, develop and manage performance.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience

  • 7+ years of engineering experience

  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $148,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
