Business Unit Introduction - Engineering and Program Management: This role is part of Engineering and Program Management (EPM), where we provide technical standards, tools, processes, training, and subject matter expertise for product engineering and manufacturing. EPM allows all Blue Origin business units to benefit from commonly used capabilities, hardware, and software and assists business units in identifying, selecting, and training engineers from inside and outside the organization. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts in the Human Integration group, you will be responsible for assisting in developing and designing Blue Origin's human-rated spacecraft. You will help drive the design of our spacecraft to maintain the highest levels of safety and comfort while ensuring that they are designed for operational ease of use. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and attention to detail to ensure safe and repeatable spaceflight. Special Mentions Relocation may be provided Travel expected up to 25% of the time Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide Concept of Operations (ConOps) and design support to Blue Origin's vehicle design teams focusing on astronaut operations Evaluate the design of astronaut-facing aspects of Blue Origin's spacecraft systems and provide support for human-in-the-loop testing Act as a liaison between the human factors and the Programs' design and operations teams, helping prioritize human tasks for members of the group Provide high-level support to the Programs' operations groups Provide support for hazard analysis and risk management related to astronaut operations and astronaut-vehicle interfaces Act on technical evaluation committee member, as needed Minimum Qualifications: Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space! Minimum of a B.S. in Engineering or a related technical discipline 15+ years of industry experience in operations or human-centered system design 5+ years of industry experience in space-flight or aircraft operations Has completed astronaut training A strong Systems Engineering background Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Preferred Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in a technical discipline related to human factors 10+ years of industry experience in human-centered system design USAF or USN TPS graduate Extravehicular Activity (EVA) experience Piloting experience Inclusivity Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
