As a Qualcomm Camera Software Engineer, you will design and develop new image processing features, develop drivers for advanced imaging hardware, and work with leading partners to build world-class camera solutions. Camera Software Engineers implement image analysis and processing techniques using varied accelerators including ARM, DSP, GPU, and advanced ML processors.

We seek a passionate engineer with in-depth knowledge on camera/ISP fundamentals, to join the Camera software team. Qualcomm Camera software team creates embedded imaging solutions for Snapdragon chipsets that power advanced technology in IoT devices. Our solutions leverage dedicated hardware, multi-core processors, DSP, and GPU cores to provide state-of-the-art photographs, video recordings, as well as scene data for image analytics.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Research and development for camera features and image/video quality improvement

  • Prototype complex solutions on platforms for proof of concept and demonstration purposes

  • Deployment of solutions that improve the imaging experience.

  • Design of camera features that balance power, memory, silicon area to maximize imaging performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.

• 2+ years of relevant camera software experience.

• 1+ year programming (e.g., C, C++, Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems knowledge.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Applies knowledge of Camera to assist in the design, development, debug, implementation, and verification of camera software (e.g., Camera Image Signal Processor, 3A, Image Quality, Tuning Tools, etc.), algorithms, and features.

• Assists in the design or architect of IQ modules, algorithms, and feature decompositions for both hardware and software.

• Assists in ensuring that image quality, software conformance tests, and performance and power metrics are met to deliver camera software to customers.

• Collaborates with team members to design, develop, and implement camera software.

Writes technical documentation and feature descriptions for Camera SW projects.

Level of Responsibility:

• Works under supervision.

• Decision-making affects direct area of work and/or work group.

• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information.

• Tasks consist of a limited number of steps and can be referenced using directions or manuals.

Pay range:

$97,000.00 - $145,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
