Insight Global Civil Design Engineer I/II in San Diego, California

Job Description

An employer in the civil engineering space is looking for a Civil Design Engineer (level 1 or level 2) to join their team. This person will assist in the designing of civil/construction projects, such as commercial centers, roads, storm water removal, water management, and sewage systems.

Some responsibilities of the Civil Design Engineer I/II will include but are not limited to:

 - Assist with grading, utility, and improvement plans.

 - Prepare estimates for quantities and costs of materials.

 - Analyze surveys, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.

 - Compile and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies verifying that projects comply with various regulations.

 - Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and standards.

 - Assist in the preparation of hydrology reports, water quality management studies, SWPPS, water and sewer studies, emras, and other needed engineering documents and exhibits.

 - Assist in the design of energy efficient or environmentally sound civil structures.

 - Lead and support interns and CAD techs on projects.

LOCATION:

 - This person will sit onsite 5 days per week in the 92131 zip code

SCHEDULE:

 - Monday - Thursday: 9 hour shifts (typically 7am start time)

 - Fridays: half days

 - This candidate will have the opportunity to have their voice heard and make a real impact at the company, as it is a smaller sized company. It also comes with exposure to different projects within the Civil Engineering field. Skills and Requirements

  • 2+ years' professional experience and proficiency working in Civil3D CAD on civil/construction focused projects - example: water/wastewater, land development (public infrastructure, grading, curve ramps, etc)

     - Engineer level 2: EIT required

     - Engineer level 1: EIT highly preferred but not required - proven drive/motivation to advance career is a must - Microstation experience (InRoads / OpenRoads)

     - Experience supporting projects that are focused on water, sewer, and land development (public infrastructure, grading, curve ramps, etc)

     - ArcGIS experience null
