Summary

This role is crucial in shaping the strategy for success across the entire value chain, from demand forecasting to supply optimization that will ensure operational excellence and drive profitability. This role will lead a team to create predictable sales revenue streams through efficient demand and supply planning. Key areas of focus for the S&OP teams include supply and demand data analytics, sales planning, process optimization, and performance reporting. The VP S&OP will also lead the architecture and implementation of the end-to-end S&OP system and process optimization to drive the value and profitability of the Whole Bird. Position reports to the SVP of Whole Bird Analytics.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the strategy and management of the organizational S&OP process and systems, which align with business objectives and market dynamics

  • Inspire and guide cross-functional teams to collaborate effectively and achieve strategic goals

  • Propose, evaluate, and implement modern technologies, tools and system enhancements to enhance S&OP processes and drive efficiency

  • Capture the ongoing status and challenges to affiliated teams (sales, supply chain, etc.) that will allow for effective planning and execution

  • Review and analyze the demand plan versus the supply plan understanding changes and trends, identify risks and opportunities

  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to ensure that the promotions, visible impact orders, and new product forecasts are included in the plans

  • Liase with all departments and outside stakeholders and partners to drive the profitability in forecasting and supply management

  • Ensure standardized templates and reliable data sources are developed and executed allowing issues and actions to be raised holistically to each department

  • Execute key accountabilities with Finance

  • Develop insightful reporting to measure business performance and provide business recommendations for improvement and/or innovation

  • Drive continuous improvement and training of world-class S&OP processes

  • Measure, control, and improve S&OP plan accuracy through clearly defined metrics

Minimum Education and Experience

A Masters Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics is highly preferred. Bachelors Degree may be considered with relevant experience.

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Minimum 10-12 years of S&OP management experience in a complex manufacturing organization with a documentable history of success

  • Prior SAP experience is critical

  • Experience in multiple supply chain processes and methodologies such as ERP, JIT, S&OP, Lean & Six Sigma

  • Decision-making: Demonstrated ability to make timely and strategic decisions with limited information to support operational efficiency.

  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in S&OP systems, demand planning tools, and supply chain technologies to enhance profitability

  • System Integration: Ability to assess existing systems and processes, identify gaps, and develop strategies for integrating new systems seamlessly.

  • Innovation: Capacity to propose, evaluate, and implement modern technologies and tools to enhance S&OP processes and drive efficiency.

  • System Architecture : Understanding of system architecture principles to design scalable, robust, and sustainable solutions for S&OP.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging with key stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations and aligning system development efforts with organizational goals.

  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks associated with system development and implementation and developing mitigation strategies to ensure successful deployment.

  • Performance Monitoring : Establishing metrics and KPIs to monitor system performance and effectiveness and making necessary adjustments to optimize outcomes.

  • Vendor Management: Collaborating with external vendors and partners to select, implement, and support new systems that align with business requirements.

  • Continuous Improvement: Commitment to continuous improvement by soliciting feedback, evaluating system performance, and implementing enhancements to drive operational excellence, efficiency and performance.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
