Position Overview

Sactown Sports has an immediate opening for a part-time, on-call board operator. This person will be responsible for providing necessary clerical and operations assistance to assure smooth airing of station's live, pre-recorded and/or automated programming assuring reliable, timely, error-free delivery.

Note:Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.

  • This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Sacramento site.
  • Candidates must be flexible with the ability to work evenings, overnights, and weekends, and be able to provide coverage for last minute scheduling needs.

What You Will Do:

Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Running the control board
  • Arranging and playing commercials and IDs according to program and commercial logs following all applicable laws and FCC regulations.
  • Help administer contests and answer listener phone calls, including screening listener calls for live shows
  • Operate satellite receivers
  • Conduct EAS tests

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of the audio equipment necessary for on-air broadcasts
  • Knowledge of studio equipment and transmitter remote control operation
  • Experience with Adobe Audition or similar audio editing software
  • Must be a team player who can work with multiple personalities in a creative environment
  • Ability to understand and execute station format philosophy and work with a team of other professionals in creating a distinctive sound
  • High school education or equivalent
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid drivers license, and a clean driving record
  • One (1) year of experience is preferred

Physical Demands

  • Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion

Compensation Range

$15.50 - $18.00 per hour*this range is inclusive of multiple job levels

Compensation will be determined by an evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal and external benchmarks.
