Wolters Kluwer Senior Enterprise Software Engineer - ServiceNow Developer in Riverwoods, Illinois

The Senior Enterprise Software Engineer is responsible for requirements, architecture, design, development, test and provide production support for ServiceNow application supporting business initiatives. You will have to work with Project Management, Systems Requirements, Development, Quality Assurance, Production Support and Client executives across multiple Teams. You will report to the Associate Director, Enterprise Software Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • Work with partners within the organization to understand and build the ServiceNow platform roadmap. Understand the cross-functional teams needs to achieve system design for requirements.

  • Work with high-level enterprise strategy and translate them into ServiceNow capabilities and thereby system level deliverables.

  • Work across the GBS organizations and be responsible for requirements, solution architecture, quality assurance and production support

  • Work with the Business Analysts to create Use Cases, Design artifacts, Development according to ServiceNow standards.

  • Cloud knowledge to provide main solutions to requirements and problems to support all GBS Cloud-based applications and ServiceNow Cloud Services.

  • Develop and deploy technical ServiceNow components such as: business rules, client scripts, UI policies and actions, UI pages and macros, script includes, catalog items, workflows, web services, reports

  • Experience administering, configuring, developing, and customizing ServiceNow and related integrations

  • Ensure that SLAs are being met for services.

  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring associates in different aspects including technology and adoption of technology.

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, processes and best practices

  • Establish competence in current and planned versions of products Understand the use of industry technology & their impact on project & operational goals

  • Assist in process improvement initiatives by working across technical teams to enhance the processes and controls to ensure development, monitoring, and support is in place

Educational Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology

Experience:

Minimum 8+ years broad Information Technology experience in:

  • Experience in working with Project and Program Management, Systems Design and Delivery, Quality Assurance, Production Support and Infrastructure

  • ServiceNow CIS IT Service Management Certified and ServiceNow Admin certified.

  • Understands and has experience with ServiceNow ITIL framework

  • Experience in cloud environment such as AWS/Azure. Certification in AWS and Azure is required or must be obtained within 3 months of joining.

  • Experience with integration to third party tools via REST API, OOB ServiceNow Connectors

  • Experience using standard frameworks like (not exhaustive and can change as new frameworks emerge and are used) JavaScript, GlideScript, HTML, CSS and Angular JS (good to have), JIRA, Database (SQL, Data Modeling), SOA etc

  • Proficiency with HTML, JavaScript-Angular JS, XML, AJAX, Jelly, CSS, SOAP, REST

  • Proficiency with ServiceNow components such as Service Catalog, Change/Incident/Problem Management, Asset Management, PPM, Discovery, Knowledge, CMDB.

  • Demonstrated experience with applications servers, development tools, build tools and configuration management practices.

  • Experience in working with database (utilizing any of the RDBMS like Oracle, DB2, MySQL or SQL Server) and involvement in data modeling and design of database Experience in SQL and performance tuning of the same

  • Expertise in problem analysis and performance tuning

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively express complex technical concepts

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience including presentations to senior management, peer groups and associates

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong understanding of project life cycle methodology and procedures.
