Amentum is seeking a Maintenance Helper to assist our operations and maintenance team in Richmond, VA. Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm; various hours may be required based on business demand. This is an entry level position with amazing growth potential for the right candidate who is willing to learn.

Maintenance Helper, will be responsible to:

• Provide general maintenance, renovations, and repairs of facilities and grounds (either with direct or indirect supervision).

• Assist maintenance mechanics with repairs throughout the facilities including production areas, grounds, office areas, conference rooms, restrooms, and other common spaces.

• Ability to mix and pour construction material (e.g., forms for concrete foundations, sand, and grout).

• Install fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges, and closures.

• Prepare, scrape, sand, fill, clean, patch, repair, stencil, and paint surfaces of walls, woodwork, and trim using paint and other protective or decorative finishes.

• Perform, coordinate, and complete work orders through a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) mobile device.

• Deliver outstanding customer service to the client and other building occupants.

• Effective communicator and team player, willing to work together with co-workers, subcontractors, and management.

• Ensure that policies and procedures, as well as safety and compliance expectations, are met.

• Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.

• Maintenance clearance to escort uncleared subcontractors during projects as needed.

• Other additional duties as assigned by Lead Technician and/or management.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires the ability to regularly lift to 50 lbs.

• Requires the ability to kneel, bend/stoop, squat, stretch, reach, walk, & climb different locations and extensions of ladders, stairs, and lifts throughout shift.

• Requires the ability to differentiate colors.

• Must have the ability to professionally interact with clients despite periods of stress.

• Wear steel toed safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat, and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed/required.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

• (1) one-year related experience working as a maintenance helper preferred

• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Additional Requirements:

• Must have a valid and current state driver’s license.

• Must understand, comprehend and maintain ability to use Technical Manuals.

• Must be able to complete paperwork associated with facilities maintenance and repairs.

• Ability to work in a team environment.

• Passing a pre-employment drug screen and a background check is required.

• Willing to work weekends and/or additional hours as needed within the week.

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Preferred:

Experience utilizing a mobile device for processing work orders.
