Modivcare Cloud Engineer Lead in Remote, Texas

This position is responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure. This role plays a critical role in shaping, building, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure that supports the organization's applications and services.

This role...

  • Designs the architecture of cloud-based solutions, considering factors like scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.

  • Recommends appropriate cloud services and resources to meet the organization's requirements.

  • Utilizes tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager to define and manage cloud infrastructure as code.

  • Provisions virtual machines, containers, and other computing resources in the cloud environment to ensure these resources are properly configured and optimized for the organization's needs.

  • Sets up and configures virtual networks, subnets, security groups, and other networking components to ensure secure and efficient communication between cloud resources.

  • Manages storage solutions such as object storage (e.g., Amazon S3), block storage (e.g., Amazon EBS), and databases in the cloud (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database).

  • Implements security best practices and compliance standards in the cloud environment, including setting up firewalls, identity, and access management (IAM), encryption, and auditing.

  • Implements monitoring solutions to track the performance and health of cloud resources.

  • Analyzes data to identify opportunities for cost optimization and resource efficiency.

  • Creates and manages automated workflows and scripts for tasks like resource provisioning, backup, scaling, and disaster recovery.

  • Designs and implements disaster recovery plans and backup strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.

  • Collaborates with development teams and other stakeholders to understand application requirements and provide the necessary cloud infrastructure and resources.

  • Diagnoses and resolve issues related to cloud services and infrastructure.

  • Provides technical support and troubleshooting assistance to ensure system uptime.

  • Monitors cloud usage and spending, implement cost control measures, and provide recommendations to optimize cloud costs.

  • Maintains detailed documentation of the cloud environment, configurations, and procedures is essential for effective management and knowledge sharing within the organization.

  • Stays updated with the latest cloud technologies and best practices is crucial for a cloud engineer to ensure that the organization benefits from the latest advancements.

We are interested in speaking to individuals with the following…

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required.

  • Ten (10) plus years of experience in IT, software development, coding, or related role.

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (required)

  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate (required)

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional (is a plus)

  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • In-depth knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and best practices.

  • Proven experience in leading technical teams.

  • Proficient in coding in Python, Ruby, JSON, etc.

  • Experience wring IaC at scale across network, security, data and compute.

  • A keen interest in new technologies and open source.

  • Willingness to research and self-study to keep technical skills relevant in a highly complex environment.

  • Innovative and ability to creatively problem solving.

  • Comfortable working in cross functional and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Salary: $116,700 - 160,400 annually

This role is bonus eligible based on individual and company performance.
