BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina Contract Negotiation Analyst in Remote, North Carolina

Job Description

As a Contract Negotiation Analyst, you will prepare, analyze, and negotiate customer contracts, with a primary focus on standard template agreements. Manage contract negotiation process from sale date to execution, as well as contract renewals and retention. Work within the framework of sales contracting and legal strategies, law, administrative regulations, and company policies and procedures. Guide and assist internal business owners through the entire contracting experience. Maintain thorough knowledge of contract(s), modify and negotiate amendments, and educate all parties on contract terms and deliverables.

  • Prepare, draft, and negotiate standard contracts, agreements and/or amendments for administrative services agreement (ASO) contracts for self-funded employer groups.

  • Develop and draft contract language.

  • Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders to discuss and finalize contract terms.

  • Accept assignments for contract requests from internal stakeholders and evaluate to determine applicable requirements.

  • Coordinate the contracting process on given contracts, including negotiation, close-out actions, billing issues/disputes and issue resolution. Ensure commercial optimization of contracts through appropriate mechanisms.

  • Provide resources and direction to business areas related to contractual matters and contract interpretation in a consistent, precise, and timely manner.

  • Identify business risks and develop strategies for avoidance and mitigation. Identify and coordinate the identification of legal issues related to contracts.

  • Author correspondence associated with contract administration, including amendments, transmittal letters, and problem reporting and resolution.

  • Comply with corporate policies and procedures and analyze and comply with regulatory guidelines.

  • Develop new procedures, training and education, initiatives, specifications, and recommendations for contracts and/or process changes, as appropriate.

  • Assist in the competitive bidding process and manage internal business relationships in the contracting process.

  • Work with stakeholders to ensure that contract language is up to date and represents Blue Cross NC compliance, legal and business needs.

  • Track and report on contract status.

Hiring Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree

  • 3+ years of experience in related field.

  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

  • Legal Assistant experience a plus

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to conduct legal research.

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Experience using Microsoft Office products.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to create and organize legal files

Salary Range

$55,800.00 - $89,300.00
