About the Position: This position is located within the US Army Aviation & Missile Command in the G-3S Strategy & Systems Integration Division at the Redstone Arsenal, AL. Responsibilities Lead, compile, develop and monitor detailed plans and efforts for all AMCOM-wide functional areas, often related to aviation and/or missile systems. Plan, develop, conduct and direct extensive management studies and surveys with primary emphasis on mission assignments. Coordinate efforts of the Command’s technical requirements in relation to Business Process and participate in major studies. Analyze requirements and develop proposals for operational solutions. Serve as member of Working Groups, Integrated Product Teams and other groups to ensure integration of assigned programs within the Command. Plan, organize and direct team study work and negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations. Assist the Director/Deputy in the integration of the various functional areas within the assigned office or division. Expert analyst who masters the application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for assessment and improvement of program effectiveness. Support Director/Deputy as a primary advocate for assigned program by assuming the role of program spokesperson. Prepare briefings and reports that are of major significance to the Department of the Army and serve as the basis for new policies and procedures that apply department-wide. Establish and maintain liaison with various command elements and operating activities, other commands, agencies, industry and higher authority. Develop and present detailed requirements in the form of briefings and papers which is readily understandable by and credible with Government and industry representatives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-12) or equivalent pay band. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral Communication Organizational Awareness Partnering Planning and Evaluating Problem Solving Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone---no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a(n) Materiel Maintenance Management Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
