Microsoft Corporation Business Manager in Redmond, Washington

We are the Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) organization, which is a part of Experiences and Devices (E+D) division. Our core mission is to keep customers protected and productive by delivering a seamless and timely servicing experience for our customers in existing and future versions of Windows. 

As a Business Manager you will be responsible for managing the team's rhythm of business, ensuring budget adherence and cost optimization, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. You would also monitor and support the team's organizational health and culture and promote diversity and inclusion and oversee compliance and privacy trainings and scorecards.

Responsibilities

Business Operations

  • Ensure that Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) lands the fiscal year as close to target as possible. Support periodic updates to leadership / stakeholders on budget adherence and cost opportunities. Drive development / execution of the financial rhythm of business (ROB) while adhering to policy and compliance.

  • Draft budgets by servicing line. Build forecasting plans and identify actions to drive performance improvement. Support negotiations with partner teams to secure funding. Collaborates with leaders regarding resource management planning including headcount strategy, location strategy and capability building.

  • Partner with the WSD leadership team to develop and execute planning processes, ensuring coordination with corporate planning processes as well as planning integration across the broader organization. 

  • Manage the team's rhythm of business (ROB). Works with cross-company/team counterparts to manage team participation as needed for key business events, next fiscal year planning, running business reviews, and other strategic business planning activities.

  • Drive alignment for strategy initiatives across functions. Researches and proposes options to the leadership team. Tracks and reports on Key Results (OKRs) key performance indicators (KPIs); may define measurement plans.

Organizational Health

  • Monitors organization health and identify issues, and promote culture initatives. Tracks the use of role-based compliance trainings and new trainings; drives the training completion rates. Ensures a healthy compliance scorecard for the team/organization.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Engineering) AND 4+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, or business-related roles

  • OR equivalent experience

Preferred Qualification

  • Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 3+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources,

  • OR business-related roles

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, business-related roles

  • OR equivalent experience

Business Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
