As a Software Engineer for wmA, you will collaborate closely with one of our largest Insurance customers, playing a pivotal role in various stages of software development. Your responsibilities will encompass requirements gathering, design, development, testing, maintenance, version upgrades, conversions, and migrations.

We expect you to take ownership of your role, leveraging your expertise to drive process improvements and implement best practices. Your role will also involve sharing knowledge and ideas with the team, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and growth.

In this position, you will represent DXC in front of our customer, and we trust that you will excel in understanding their needs to deliver robust, clean, and scalable solutions.

Job Functions:

  • Develop interfaces between multiple systems and wmA, utilizing programming skills in Mainframe COBOL and JCL.

  • Engage in requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, planning, investigation, development, testing, and maintenance.

  • Understand and analyze user and business needs to ensure alignment with vision and business strategy, bridging the gap between current and future business models.

  • Share knowledge and mentor less experienced team members.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Life Insurance Annuity Platforms: wmA/Vantage-One.

  • Proficiency in Mainframe technologies (COBOL and JCL Microfocus).

  • Experience with System Migrations and Integrations.

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand and act upon business and customer needs, aligned with company values, culture, and goals.

  • Strong analytical skills, capable of structuring complex or undefined business problems.

  • Decomposition of high-level information into detailed business requirements.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling professional interaction with diverse groups, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $66,500 - $123,400.

Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
