Job Purpose:

Seeking to hire a Quality Engineering Lead (Techno Functional) .

BIC is seeking to hire a Quality Engineer Lead with 10 - 14 years of experience in Investment Banking. We are looking for a highly motivated Testing professional who is ready to take on the challenges of working in a fast-paced, world class environment and ready to own the quality of mission critical software. The individual will assist and have specific ownership of the functional and automation Testing activities within agile team.

The individual will be required to partner with development, business and support teams to build an understanding of the varied and complex business functionality supported by the financial systems.

Job Background/context:

The position is based out of Pune. Candidate is expected to possess below experience and potential:

• Possess 10-14 years of techno-functional QE skills

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent and gained experience as senior test engineer/lead in financial institution or comparable organization

• Expertise in various testing strategies and the ability to apply experience in determining the strategy to problem at hand

• Ability to technically lead a QE team and ensure that the team is progressing in the appropriate technical directions

• Responsible for overall quality, coding standards of the automated suites

• Open and team-oriented attitude showing flexibility, initiative and high sense of responsibility

• Proficient in all testing fields like functional Testing activities for the respective area comprising of Functional, Automation and Data.

• Ability to partner with all IB CB app owners and stakeholders and involve oneself in determining strategy, application direction as well as productivity/efficiency (dev and business)

• Ability to deal with a dynamic environment positively

• Candidate will work independently and is highly self-motivated ho will take ownership and accountability

• The candidate will work with complex and variable issues with multiple stakeholders’ cross geographies

• Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources

• Is self-motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership and accountability

• Good to have Selenium / Java / Cypress programming skills.

• Proficient in bug tracking and test management toolset (JIRA, Git/ Bitbucket, HP-ALM and Confluence)

• Works closely key stakeholders to understand business, functional and non-functional requirements in order to develop test plans, test cases and liaison with Development team to automate regression scripts/ pack and execute formal Performance Test plans to ensure the delivery of Quality software applications.

• Ability to adopt lean approach towards processes, frameworks and actual testing activities.

• Expert in functional testing techniques and ability to extend those to validate at data level across the upstream-downstream system

• Candidate must be able to comprehend data architecture and able to understand the complexities of database tools and define the database testing strategy and data migration strategy.

• Well versed with writing SQL queries.

• VB scripting and macros will be nice to have

• Should be highly self-motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership and accountability

Qualifications:

• 10-14 years’ experience in software testing

• At least 5 years’ experience as senior test engineer / Lead and software automation testing

• Experience of working in agile delivery environment within Squads/ PODs

• Clear understanding of QE processes within agile delivery.

• Understanding of functional , non-functional , mobile and/ or database testing.

• Hands-on experience on selenium/cypress based test Automation (data driven , TDD , BDD)

• Experience in creating automation test frameworks, test scripting, test suite execution and test reporting.

• Exposure to tracking and reporting testing metrics / KPI’s

• Understanding of basic financial market concepts would be advantageous. Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies, Quality Process, relevant operating systems, languages and database tools, defect tracking systems, including change management, automation tools.

• Requires methodical approach to testing and problem solving.

• Excellent communication and test reporting skills.
