Office Assistant 2 - WADDL Available Title(s): 100I-YNCSNPS - Office Assistant 2 Business Title: Office Assistant 2 - WADDL Employee Type: Classified Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Office Assistant 2, under general supervision, provides support services to submitting clients of the Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory, laboratory personnel, veterinary students, residents and faculty. Triages incoming phone calls, receives and refers visitors, initiates and creates client invoices, and performs various business office functions. Enters data into the laboratory information system database (COFL). Eligibility and understanding of BSL-2 laboratory safety guidelines and work environment is required. Required Qualifications: • High School graduation or equivalent and one year of clerical experience; OR equivalent education/experience. • Physical eligibility required for working in a BioSafety Lab-2 (BSL-2) environment. Preferred Qualifications: • Customer service experience in a medical and/or veterinary office setting. • Strong computer skills and competency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Experience using COFL or a similar medical and/or accounting database and software. • Experience utilizing medical terminology of multiple body systems or in a multi-specialty department. • Experience with utilizing a Quality System and using and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
