Contracts Specialist 1 Available Title(s): 144F-YNCSNPS - Contracts Specialist 1 Business Title: Contracts Specialist 1 Employee Type: Classified Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: Performs the first level of professional contract administration work with responsibility in the administration of a wide variety of contracts and letters of understanding pertaining to the business affairs of the agency. Required Qualifications: • A Bachelor's degree involving major study in business administration, public administration, business law, commerce, economics, mathematics, statistics, or closely allied field OR additional qualifying experience may be substituted, year for year, for the required education. AND One year of experience in negotiating, administering, or terminating contracts, contract property management, contract cost or price analysis, or contract compliance administration. A Master's degree in one of the above academic disciplines may be substituted for the required experience. A law degree from an accredited college or university approved by the Washington State Bar Association may be substituted for the required experience and education. • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. • Demonstrated ability to achieve and facilitate harmonious working relationships with others. • Demonstrated ability to edit, proofread, and redline contractual documents. • Experience with computer-based business information systems and experience utilizing spreadsheets, databases, etc., to analyze and present information. Preferred Qualifications: • Two (2) years' experience reviewing and redlining contracts at an institution of higher education.
