Job Summary:
As a member of the Health Center team, the ½ Time Nurse Practitioner assesses the health needs of patients by planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment to keep them physically and emotionally healthy enough to stay in class. The ½ Time Nurse Practitioner also teaches proper health principles.
Essential Functions
- Provide medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in both a clinic and ambulatory setting
- Provide answers to questions over telephone
- Document all findings, consultation, treatment, and diagnoses
- Review documentation for accuracy
- Keeping abreast of new developments in medicine
*Advanced Functions: *
- IUD insertion and removal
- Nexplanon insertion and removal
- Surgical procedures; Pilonidal Cyst removal, Lipoma excision, Epidermoid cyst excision.
Education/Experience:
*Minimum education/experience required:*
Current Nurse Practitioner License in the State of Utah and Master¿s Degree in Nursing/APRN/Board Certified or eligible
Preferred:
Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications:
- Advanced assessment and treatment skills used in the care of all types of patients (variable in adult, family and pediatric)
- CPR certified
- OSHA certified
- Fulfill requirements as listed under job scope and major accountabilities
- Stay current with medical knowledge and practices
- DEA License
