Continental Customs Manager - Global Lead Governmental Affairs, Legislation & Litigation (m/f/d) . REF58668P in Porto, Portugal

As Global Lead Governmental Affairs, Legislation & Litigation you will be contributing to the development and execution of Continental's customs strategies, dealing with various customs and foreign trade related topics, which have a global impact on Continental.

In your role as Global Lead Governmental Affairs, Legislation & Litigation, you will be the expert in legal matters within customs & foreign trade context.

You will therefore

  • Manage various legal Customs and Foreign Trade related topics independently or together with our Regional Expert Teams

  • Orchestrate & steer the governmental relation efforts of Continental in terms of Customs and Foreign Trade worldwide

  • Represent Continental towards governmental bodies and in professional associations

  • Monitor legal developments and distill insights in collaboration with global and regional experts

  • Facilitate the transfer of knowledge together with Global Knowledge Manager

  • Assist in management decisions related to dispute resolution, including the determination of whether to pursue legal action

  • Functionally steer external legal consultants/lawyers

  • Build up & administrate the central litigation database for Continental worldwide

  • Review supplier & customer contracts regarding Customs & Foreign Trade related clauses

  • Support the development of Continental’s Standard Terms & Conditions for Customs & Foreign Trade matters

  • Legal university degree

  • You have had several years of industry/corporate or consulting experience within customs and foreign trade

  • Fluent English both in speaking and writing is required for this role

  • You have the ability to present complicated facts in a simple way

  • You show exceptional social competence, including good communication skills, openness, a cooperative working style and a distinct ability to work across cultures and countries

  • You show motivation and initiative by setting your own expectations and goals.

  • You show a strong customer and stakeholder focus

  • You prefer a team-oriented way of working and show high assertiveness
