Job Duties: Contribute to the development of sophisticated data powered solutions that will be a game changer for the entire enterprise. Novel supply chain management including processing of big data and integration of data from disparate sources. Help with project roadmap planning, provide realistic estimates, and identify risks. Design and implement real time as well as batch (ETL, ELT) data pipelines using cloud-based services (Currently on GCP). Design and develop large-scale data schemas and structures to optimally balance the usage, performance, and cost. Engage in the entire product cycle starting from inception to support and maintenance. Help customer support team by troubleshooting and fixing issues post-deployment. Partner with solution architects, enterprise architects, infosec and risk/compliance team to ensure adherence to established guidelines. Collaborate with SRE team to improve logging and monitoring. Act as the custodian of engineering backlog and promote the continuous improvement and maintenance of the current solution. Weave the aspects of data engineering, data science, analytics and visualization in implementation.
Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design. Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation. Modify existing software to correct errors, upgrade interfaces and improve performance. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
May telecommute. Reports to Plano, TX.
Requirements/Special Skills: Bachelors degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the data engineering space building and deploying data pipelines.
Experience must include:
Three (3) years of experience programming with Java or Python.
Three (3) years of experience utilizing variety of data (such as structured, unstructured, or semi structured).
One (1) year of hands-on experience of GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
Two (2) years of experience with data warehousing tools such as SnowFlake, BigQuery, or similar.
Two (2) years of experience with BI Visualization Tools such as PowerBI, Looker, Tableau, or similar.
Three (3) years of experience developing RESTful APIs.
