Oracle Senior Data Center Site Planner in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Description

The Site Design Planner will be responsible to deliver accurate, comprehensive Site Designs for data center build projects. A successful team member in this role will work cross functionally to aggregate necessary pieces of information from other planning teams within the Infrastructure Capacity organization, and will be able to use judgement to determine appropriate power allocations within a certain set of parameters.

Responsibilities

This role will report to the Director of DC Site Design & Planning, and will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with demand planning team to convert a business plan into a site plan that meets both the customer and business goals

  • Aggregating the network capacity plan and connectivity plan from partner organizations

  • Producing the server plan and power allocation plan needed to execute on the business requirements of the site

  • Partnering with development teams to provide requirements to automate the process as much as possible

  • Producing a single document for each specific new site build and site expansion

  • Clearly handing off an actionable design to data center design

  • Seeking approval of designs from leadership and key stakeholders

  • Determine specific rack and power allocations at a new site to meet customer needs

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years in cloud/hyperscale networking, data center capacity planning, or cloud compute capacity planning

  • Ability to communicate information to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner

  • Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders to tight deadlines and often shifting priorities

  • Ability to work cross functionally with sourcing, DC engineering, DC Design, Delivery, Networking and Connectivity teams, and gain buy in to achieve a common goal

US: Hiring Range: from $74,100 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
