DUTIES: Provide technical leadership in designing and developing new software and web applications in the telecommunications domain, using Java and PHP; work with 3GPP standards and Diameter protocol; perform test automation and execution; work with WiFi standards, including 802.1x, 802.11, and HotSpot 2.0; implement AAA (authentication, authorization, and accounting) policy engines and Radius solutions on switches, WLAN controllers, Wireless Access Points, and VPN concentrators; perform web programming using HTML and JavaScript; work with networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, TCP, UDP, OSPF, ISIS, and BGP WPA2, WISPr, and EAP; work with DOCSIS access and provisioning technologies; write Shell scripts on Linux or Unix systems; use SOAP WebServices, Java, X-Windows, Zabbix, Splunk, and Wireshark; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers. Position is eligible for 100% remote work.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and seven (7) years of experience developing software in the telecommunications domain, using Java and PHP; working with 3GPP standards and Diameter protocol; performing test automation and execution; working with WiFi standards, including 802.1x and 802.11; of which five (5) years include implementing AAA (authentication, authorization, and accounting) policy engines and Radius solutions on switches, WLAN controllers, Wireless Access Points, and VPN concentrators; of which three (3) years include performing web programming using HTML and JavaScript; working with networking and packet-based protocols, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, TCP, UDP, MPLS, OSPF, ISIS, and BGP WPA2, WISPr, and EAP; working with provisioning technologies; writing Shell scripts on Linux or Unix systems; and using SOAP WebServices and Wireshark.
