Noblis Computer Engineer/Modeler in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Responsibilities

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Noblis MSD is seeking to hire a Systems Engineer.

Noblis MSD is seeking an individual to design, develop, implement, and test mathematical models/software based simulations of physical electrical power and machinerysystems. This will also involve evaluation and analysis of equipment and system designs and test data. Expected to work with a team of engineers and technicians to complete deliverable applications and coordinate with government sites and ship platforms.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs advanced engineering work concerned with the design, evaluation, testing and operation of US Navy shipboard electrical power and propulsion systems.

  2. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

  3. Participates in special projects as required.

  4. Participates in setting up and conducting laboratory and field testing to include developing test methodologies, test planning and execution, related instrumentation and sensors, and data analysis.

  5. Develop mathematical models of power systems, propulsion systems, control systems, and networks are desired.

This will be a hybrid position based our of Philadelphia, PA.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical\Mechanical\Computer Engineering

  • 3+ years of related engineering experience using Matlab/Simulink or equivalent to support modeling and simulation of navy shipboard power and machinery systems

  • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques

  • Advanced knowledge of modeling and simulation of Naval Power Systems, Propulsion systems and associated hardware, software, and equipment

  • Knowledge of developing mathematical models utilizing Matlab/Simulink

  • Candidate must possess or have capability of acquiring a DoD Secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications

  1. Knowledge of C++, Java, C, Python and/or Object Oriented Programming

  2. Knowledge of Diesel Engines, Generators, Physics, PID controllers, Hardware Design

  3. Advanced knowledge control system design and implementation

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.

Posted Salary Range

USD $61,600.00 - USD $107,800.00 /Yr.
