The Wistar Institute of Anatomy & Biology Biomedical Research Support Core - Data and System Manager in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Data and System Manager to support the Biomedical Research Support Core through data management and other core activities. Responsibilities include:

Data Management

  • Provides data quality management activities for ongoing clinical trials, including the preparation of periodic data quality reports and study monitoring reports.
  • Interacts with statistical teams for data QA/QC, querying, extractions, database closes etc.
  • Interacts with Software Developers and vendors to develop study-specific CDETweb implementations, eCRFs and applications.
  • Supports Wistar scientists and collaborators in any additional data-related activity (e.g. ad-hoc queries, data transfer, etc.).

Other Support

  • Manages accounts and users for our bespoke EDMS.
  • Processes payments and billing related to BRS Core activities.
  • Designs and implements marketing and visibility projects.
  • Supports other Core activities such as Tissue Microarrays design and ordering, Blood donor registry support, etc.

Education:  Bachelor's degree with work experience in data management or Master's degree in Statistics, Data Sciences, Public Health, Epidemiology or similar discipline preferred.

Experience (required):  Proficiency with Excel, PowerQuery M, Dax, PowerBi/Tableau/Looker Studio or similar business intelligence platforms; 1+ year of demonstrated project management experience, including project setup, milestone definitions, and deliverables (e.g. reports, scientific publications, presentations, white papers, etc.); OR working experience with implementation of HIPAA and other healthcare-related regulatory frameworks as applied to data management; OR working experience with electronic data management systems in the field of healthcare and/or biomedical research.

Experience (preferred): working knowledge of statistical packages such as SAS/JMP, R, Stata, GIS or similar; working experience in data management using Python, SQL, M, Dax, or other relevant software packages; and experience working with software developers, software vendors and statistical analysis groups.
