WR Systems Lead Embedded Software Engineer in Norfolk, Virginia

Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Travel Requirements : Negligible

Location: Little Creek, VA

SUMMARY : WR has an opportunity for a Lead Embedded Software Engineer to oversee the entire software engineering lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and coordinates tasks among team members.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Independently design software systems, lead testing and programming, and consult with clients for program needs.

  • Analyze data requirements, assess feasibility, and develop plans for program development.

  • Research and evaluate software and hardware, training users, and coordinating system installations.

  • Evaluate junior staff performance and contribute to their training and development.

    Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.

  • Six (6)+ years of experience in computer science or engineering field, to include: systems/equipment support, test and evaluation support of C4ISR requirements.

  • Five (5) + years of experience developing embedded software applications in C/C++.

  • Three (3)+ years of technical experience in support of developing software applications using C#, Java, Python, assembly, or other compiled or real-time programming language.

  • Familiarity with software development strategies such as Agile, software development collaboration tools such as Eclipse, Jira, and Git, and software testing strategies, Unit testing, and Test Driven Development (TDD).
