The School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at the Newark Campus of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, seeks applicants for a full-time non-tenure track faculty position to begin in July 2024. We are seeking a candidate with a demonstrated history of actively engaging with communities and effectively instructing students from diverse cultural backgrounds. The candidate will be responsible for teaching two courses each Fall and Spring semester in the School's undergraduate and graduate programs. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all community engagement activities within the School. This involves not only advancing the research of SPAA faculty in connection to community engagement but also actively fostering collaborations with our RU-N community, Newark and the Greater Newark community, and other external and internal stakeholders that contribute to the School's commitment to community enrichment. The candidate will play a pivotal role in cultivating a dynamic environment that promotes reciprocal relationships between academia and the broader community, thereby creating lasting positive impacts through collaborative research endeavors and knowledge-sharing initiatives. The candidate will be expected to work on grant and contract applications, as well as actively participate in other service activities within the School as assigned by the dean.The successful candidate will be a core faculty member in a NASPAA-accredited public administration program that is ranked 28th nationally in Public Affairs by US News and World Report and holds five other top-25 rankings in Public Affairs and Administration. The appointment is for a term of three years and can be renewed.As a major public university in New Jersey's largest city, located just 20 minutes outside of NYC, the Newark Campus of Rutgers provides students with the knowledge and preparation necessary for leadership roles in an increasingly complex society, with particular attention to its public mission and building a civic dialogue. The campus is the most diverse national university in the United States and is ranked highly among doctoral degree-granting small universities in the country. Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in public administration or a related field, have demonstrated evidence of excellence as a teacher, and a distinguished level of experience in the field.
