Summary You will serve in the Weapons Algorithms Systems Branch, Code 8522 as the Torpedo Software Architecture Lead Systems Engineer/Scientist at the NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI, located in Newport, RI. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15. The ND-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13. Responsibilities You will be responsible for the design, development and sustainment of Torpedo Software Architecture, Algorithms, Tactics, and Developmental Software models for all current and future torpedo baselines/projects. You will provide the day-to-day technical direction and adjudication of technical issues necessary to execute tasking. You will utilize a broad professional engineering/scientific knowledge and experience to plan, organize, lead, direct and perform torpedo operational torpedo software architecture and algorithm development and systems engineering duties. You will direct and work as part of the development team in the system engineering analysis process to develop performance and interface specifications. You will design and develop torpedo software architecture and algorithms to accomplish critical and advanced torpedo system improvements/upgrades, and/or resolve torpedo system issues derived from analysis and assessment of system performance. You will generate, execute, review, and provide oversight for test plans to verify/validate torpedo software architecture and algorithm requirements, tactics requirements, and overall torpedo system requirements. You will develop plans and provide oversight for conduct of failure analysis, troubleshooting, and evaluation proposed solutions; reporting results to sponsors and senior management.
