The Amazon Grocery Logistics (AGL) Delivery team is seeking enthusiastic and high-caliber individuals to drive delivery innovation and performance to the next level. AGL Delivery supports the operations and supply chain for Fresh stores (GS), Fulfillment Centers (GFC), Grocery Partner (GP) stores and Whole Foods Market (WFM) stores. Along with these core businesses, AGL Delivery has future plans for ground-breaking customer offerings to dramatically improve click-to-deliver speeds, product selection, and expansive coverage to create a best-in-class delivery strategy.

As a Program Manager on the Sortation and Dispatch team, you will be responsible for delivery related Under The Roof (UTR) Processes for our Grocery Delivery businesses. The PM will support delivery functions for launch of new Fresh buildings, partner on designs, build, improve and roll out new processes to reduce cost and improve quality. Building a robust process in our physical stores to ensure a high quality pick up experience for the delivery partners is critical to the success of the Grocery Delivery programs. The role requires scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating, driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks, and process/product changes. This PM will manage key metrics related to Delivery quality for Grocery Delivery, roll out a major process change in 2024, and develop the roadmap to further improve quality and reduce cost through network standardization.

In order to accomplish this, the individual must think strategically and make data driven decisions. Candidates will be leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, foster collaboration, manage direct reports, and have a consistent track record of delivering results. You must have the experience and capability to create and present documentation for senior executives and align your roadmap with AGL’s strategic objectives. Executive level written and verbal communication skills are essential. You should be experienced in working with large number of external stakeholders, operators and dive deep to provide data driven recommendations. These roles require scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks and process/product changes. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential.

Position can be located out of Seattle, Nashville or New York City.

  • Manage full lifecycle of complex cross-functional programs with considerable impact across multiple organizations

  • Development of the overall program strategy, tactically driving teams in and outside of your organization to deliver

  • Define the program (mission, vision, tenets), set objectives, analyze data and drive improvements that are quantified with metrics

  • Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions and reasons behind leadership decisions

  • Partner with teams across the business you support and beyond to source, allocate, and coordinate resources

  • Partner with customers, internal/external teams, and engineering teams to determine what projects move forward and in what priority order

  • Oversee gaps between teams, processes and systems, helping teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes (e.g., requirements not sufficiently understood or documented, ineffective cross-team collaboration, long-term impact(s) from third-party solutions, security not considered, insufficient stakeholder review, etc.)

  • Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks)

  • Work with program managers, business leaders and executive team to communicate and impact critical business initiatives

  • Develop, implement, and govern KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones, and performance across all projects

  • Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end to end outcomes for Amazon customers

  • Roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality

  • Create, communicate, and manage budget for projects

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of program or project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology

  • Experience in MS Access and SQL

  • Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
