Globant IT Services Corp. Android Mobile Architect Lead in Miami, Florida

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading, managing and guiding multiple internal teams focused on mobile applications feature development for a major client.
  • Directly responsible for the client's Android applications providing the best technical solutions to the various challenges presented by adding new features to current mobile applications.
  • Bring new and innovative ideas to improve code quality and processes.
  • Establish excellent relationship with stakeholders, capturing their needs and pain points to provide the best solutions.
  • Establish a favorable position with clients, building rapport, and earning their confidence, while always representing the company's core values.
  • Review ongoing projects to ensure compliance with industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Make technical decisions on architecture and design to deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable mobile applications.
  • Conduct regular code reviews to maintain high code quality and enforce coding standards.
  • Contribute innovative ideas to the project, introducing new technologies and solutions to enhance mobile development.
  • Evaluate and propose process improvements to optimize development workflows and increase team productivity.
  • Collaborate with product owners and designers to align development efforts with product goals.
  • Conduct technical design reviews and audit Android projects to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Identify project risks and plan mitigation action with the PM at project level.
  • Coordinate release schedules and merge strategies for efficient feature delivery.
  • Work with Agile methodology of PODs and lead the POD team.
  • Mentor and assist Mobile Leads grow their careers, providing them with support and challenges to boost their skills.
  • Maintain good communication channel with team to ensure their work is in the best possible environment, feeling confident and supported by their lead.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and supporting team members, fostering their professional growth.
  • Participate in new hiring possibilities during meetings with directors from different areas of the company, providing input on potential candidates and their technical qualifications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Systems Engineering, IT, or U.S. equivalent, and t wo (2) years of experience in the job or as Technical Lead, Senior Android Mobile Developer, or a closely related occupation responsible for leading Android Mobile Developers, conducting technical design reviews, and auditing Android projects.
  • Experience must include developing Android applications and detailed design structure, and identifying project risks, planning mitigation actions applying different design patterns according to project needs.
  • Must have experience applying/ utilizing Agile methodologies (Scrum), Azure DevOps, Android SDK, Java, Kotlin databases/languages, Android async processes, Retrofit Android UI, OOP, MVP/MVVM Design Patterns, Android Components/Jetpac (Room/LiveData), SOLID principles, and tools such as Android Studio, Jira, Git/Git flow and Trunk base CI/CD.
  • Experience must include working with foreground services and Work Manager to optimize application performance, machine learning and user experience
