Performs the purchasing functions related to the manufacturing facility. Ensures all purchasing related duties are within budget, deadlines, and are within food quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

· Initiate orders to procure required supplies.

· Ensure proper inventory levels are set in accordance with the Plant Budget, Sales, and Production.

· Establish with vendors proper just-in-time parameters for punctual deliveries.

· Maintain an open line of communication for adverse changes and emergency supplies.

· Continually analyze on-hand inventories versus vendor on-hand status

· Update reorder points in relation to sales and production forecast.

· Work with marketing and sales department on graphic, size, and product changes to avoid obsolete inventory.

· Work with Plant Controller on savings, material change and quality assurance projects.

· Administers the Capex process to include attending capex meetings, developing capex needs report based on submitted requests and identifying cost savings, etc. Complete Authority for Expenditures for each project; collect quotes and information required for project approval.

· Maintains capex records including the submission of approved PO’s.

· Oversees the Set-Aside Cheddar Program for production; this includes meeting sensitive time requirements ensuring proper aging and lbs. on hand are available.

· Actively participate as a member of the Food Safety Team.

· Assist with the vendor non-conformance process ensuring vendor’s compliance.

· Attend and participate in weekly management meetings.

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education & Experience

· Associate degree in business administration preferred or a minimum of four years’ professional work experience in a related field is required.

· Additional work experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment with data entry experience is required.
