Robert Half Desktop Support in Memphis, Tennessee

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and resolve technical support tickets related to desktop hardware, software, network connectivity, and peripheral devices.

  • Provide timely assistance to users experiencing IT issues via phone, email, or in-person.

  • Offer guidance and training to users on software applications and hardware.

  • Technical Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and peripheral equipment.

  • Perform system upgrades and installations of software applications and drivers.

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including wired and wireless connections.

  • System Maintenance:

  • Perform regular system maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance and security.

  • Manage and maintain inventory of IT assets, including hardware and software licenses.

  • Ensure systems are protected with up-to-date antivirus and anti-malware solutions.

  • Configuration and Deployment:

  • Prepare and deploy new desktop systems, including imaging, configuring, and testing.

  • Assist in the setup and configuration of user accounts and email systems.

  • Maintain and update documentation for IT processes and procedures.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues and implement IT projects.

  • Communicate effectively with users to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.

  • Assist with the development and enforcement of IT policies and procedures.

    Requirements

  • Education:

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in desktop support or a related technical support role.

  • Experience with Windows and Mac operating systems.

  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, and common desktop applications.

  • Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Certifications:

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications are preferred.
