JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Event Supervisor supervises full and part time staff, provides direction for event setup and tear down of conferences and events held at the WI Union. The incumbent will work collaboratively within a team environment, process excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse population. Additionally, responsible for managing inventory, ordering supplies, and payroll management. Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekend and holidays. Responsibilities: Develops catering and event experiences, provides leadership to adjust to and exceed customer expectations, and provides strategic guidance. Oversees operations including supervising and developing staff to ensure that operations run efficiently, economically, and in line with department goals and policy. 35% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees 30% Supervises and manages re-servable indoor and outdoor spaces utilizing the Enterprise Event management System (EMS) software program 10% Assists in planning, development, and initiation of policies and procedures for operations and service delivery for catering operations 5% Assists with the development and implementation of menu items, services, and presentations to meet customer needs and industry standards 20% Oversees daily operations and serves as the primary contact for day of events and serves as primary lead where event presence is needed Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.
