JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The High Road Strategy Center (HRSC) is a national think-and-do tank that promotes high-road solutions to social problems. Such solutions treat shared growth and social fairness, environmental sustainability, and capable democratic institutions as necessary and achievable complements in human development. Housed at the High Road Strategy Center, the Mayors Innovation Project (MIP) is a learning network for American mayors committed to high road policy and governance: shared prosperity, environmental sustainability, and efficient democratic government. We provide clear, useful information on policies and programs for local governments and create high-quality peer learning experiences for local leaders. Focus areas for this position will include the Water Affordability program and the Mayors Institute on Pedestrian Safety. Additional focus areas may emerge based on demand from mayors and funding opportunities. This position will work primarily on the Mayors Innovation Project and report to the MIP Managing Director. The successful applicant will be an integral member of the MIP team, and will work with other staff on a wide range of projects and issue areas. Principal duties: Outreach (35%) Communications Ensure that we are effectively communicating with member cities, partners, and the general public Develop and execute communications plans for events and publications Represent HRSC and the Mayors Innovation Project at external events Relationship Management Recruit member cities and event participants and build relationships with mayors and staff Build relationships with sponsors and funders and seek out new funding opportunities Maintain relationships with partner NGOs and cultivate new ones Assist managing director with steering committee Event Management Support planning and content of at least two events a year Support management of budget, including fundraising Project Management (30%) Manage existing MIP projects, including, but not limited, to our Water Affordability program, which convenes and resources cities and...
