The IT Support Specialist I’s scope includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of software applications, customized applications, and websites, etc.

Major/Essential Functions:

As the IT Support Specialist, everyday you will:

  • Provide support by conducting research, preparing reports, creating presentations, and coordinating efficiency within the Human Resources Systems team.

  • Serve as the system administrator for the Campus Training Management System (TMS) which includes security access, technical support, training, and building and deployment of online content.

  • Provides TMS system maintenance which includes upgrades, configuration, troubleshooting and user testing.

  • Provide system support within the Human Resources department to include, system access, PC maintenance, and inventory.

To be successful in this role, you must,

  • Be able to work independently and in a team.

  • Be able to organize, coordinate, and prioritize tasks for the HR Systems team.

  • Have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office skills including excel, word, and powerpoint.

  • Ability to clearly communicate information, ideas, and directions both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and bias towards action in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

  • Exercise judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.

  • Have experience with desktop operating systems.
