UCLA Health Application Manager, Tapestry - Medicare Advantage in Los Angeles, California

Under the direction of the Medicare Advantage Director, the Application Manager (AM) will be the primary expert in support of the application. As the AM, you will play a critical role in overseeing the coordination, maintenance, optimization, and implementation of functionality within our application. You will serve as the primary expert in supporting the application and ensuring its alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and manage the team that designs, builds, tests, and support new applications and modules within their portfolio and/or service line

  • Demonstrate expertise in all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) or relevant project management methodologies

  • Ensure adherence to test and change control procedures throughout the application lifecycle

  • Take ownership of the delivery of the application project portfolio and ensures the team has the requisite skills to support the application

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other EHR AMs to maintain build consistency and optimize end-to-end workflows

  • Work with business owners, vendors, and ISS team members to evaluate and recommend solutions to complex problems and requests

  • Identify training needs for team members and lead efforts to enhance their application knowledge

  • Work closely with application trainers to ensure accuracy and relevancy of training materials for end users

Applications Supported: EPIC Tapestry and other related software in support of Medicare advantage health plan administration.

Salary Range: $105,200 - $250,600 AnnuallyQualifications

We're seeking a self-motivated, customer-oriented, deadline-driven individual with:

  • Must have or acquire required EPIC certifications to support the applications. Manager will be required to achieve certification within 12 months of start date.

  • Good understanding of Information Technology practices and Project Management techniques

  • Minimum three years of relevant IT or healthcare experience, with a track record of growth

  • Superior organizational ability to plan, execute and complete application projects of medium size

  • Ability to mentor staff with technical and business-related matters

  • Ability to work with ease with a variety of individuals

  • Ability to provide superior customer service

  • Ability to demonstrate cooperation, teamwork and constructive conflict resolution

  • Must be able to appropriately document application changes

  • Conduct staff evaluations and develop follow-up actions as needed

  • Experience working in a distributed work environment

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills across all mediums (email, phone, telepresence, etc.) and all levels of an organization.

  • Demonstrated experience managing without authority and managing up.

  • Must possess strong technical experience and background working within an EMR; Epic preferred.

  • Must possess a working knowledge of operational workflow and/or settings of business area(s) where application is used

  • Demonstrated ability and experience in managing expectations across all levels of an organization

  • Ability to assess business needs and scope and translate into technical requirements
