Aerotek Machining Manager in Livermore, California

Description:

• The purpose of the Machining Manager is to act as the front line for direction, instruction, and training of staff in the Machining department as well as drive continuous improvement across key business objectives.

• This position will also operate and control machines and processes in the Machining department.

• Plans and lays out complex operations in Machining; fabricates and assembles various types and sizes of product parts and assemblies.

• Works in coordination with all other department Production Manager(s) to manage the daily operations of assigned employee(s), assuring overall quality, productivity, and policy / contract adherence.

• Maintains and promotes excellent client relations by identifying and promptly responding to all questions relating to the business.

• Provides knowledge transfer where inquiry requires higher level of expertise.

• Fosters a culture of continuous improvement.

• Assist with development of new processes.

• Writing and interpreting instructions and procedures to assemble equipment and products accurately.

• Performing inspections of equipment, materials, and products

• Conduct 1:1 meeting with Machining employees.

• Conducts annual performance reviews for Machining employees.

• Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops Machining employees; manages schedules and workflow.

• Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures employees conform to organizational policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of employees; actively works to promote and recognize performance.

• Coordinates activities to establish production requirements and prepares a production plan to meet customer needs.

• Forecast material requirements based on customer requirements and communicate as requested by procurement.

• Maintain an inventory of raw materials required for production and inventory.

• Maintain month end inventory process for department and develop and recommend ideas to reduce physical inventories.

• Continually look for opportunities to improve the manufacturing process and department.
