Job Description:

100% - Jayhawk Debate Institute Lab Leaders

  • Attend all lab meetings with campers.

  • Create an affirmative, case negative, and assigned core negative positions for campers to use.

  • Work with students to develop debate skills such as speaking, researching, debate theory and argumentation.

  • Present assigned lecture and provide supervision during lecture sessions

  • Escort students to and from campus (by bus or foot).

  • Judge practice debates and tournament debates.

  • Participate in all camp activities.

Work Schedule:

Full time, 40 hours/week with the possibility of overtime.

  • Two-week JDI Lab Leader positions run June 23 - July 06, 2024

  • Three- week JDI Lab Leader positions run June 23 - July 13, 2024

Required Qualifications:

  1. Must be an active member of the NDT/CEDA/High School policy debate community

  2. Must have extensive policy debate experience at high school and/or college (NDT/CEDA) level

Advertised Salary Range:

$25.00 minimum

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience coaching high school or college (NDT/CEDA) policy debate

  2. Success in debate competition on the college (NDT/CEDA) level

  3. Experience working at a debate camp
